Children's Cultural Center Belgrade : Profile
Established in 1952 as Dom Pionira, upon the initiative of the
City Pioneer Council. Its founder is the City Assembly of Belgrade.
The Children's Cultural Center Belgrade through its program conception
promotes national cultural heritage and modern cultural achievements
for the youngest, integrating them into European and world cultural
trends. By its programs it encourages individual creative potential
of a child, and the consciousness of its rights. It also fulfills
child's spare time with its affinities, creative play, while sociopsychologically
integrating it into the group. By its program it addresses the
youngest citizens of Belgrade, 4-18 years old.
 The
Children's Cultural Center Belgrade organizes the greatest international
children's event of the city of Belgrade, "The Joy of Europe"
- The International Meeting of the Children of Europe, as well
as other manifestations: International Children's Drawing and
Painting Contest "Joy of Europe", The Children's Music
Festival - "Children Composers" and The Children's Song
Contest "Little Mermaid".

The Children's Cultural Center Belgrade also has a large number
of programs that take the children to the adventure called history,
ecology, geography, music, and dance.
studios and ateliers: the
play center fosters synthesis of motion, music and rhythm,
it consists of ballet studio and jazz and modern
dancing studio; fine arts
atelier strengthens personal and original impulses by using
different techniques (pencil, Indian ink, pastel, aquarelle, guash);
applied arts atelier fosters
children's creativity in applied arts (work with potter's wheel,
textile, clay, combined techniques...); studio
of drama by modern methodical approach fosters children's
scenic play, adequately working on scenario, diction and motion;
music program by active
relation and playing, master basic musical conceptions. It includes:
choir practices, musical performances and solo singing...
publishing activity will make possible publishing
of works essentially connected with child's culture, literature,
film, music, fine arts and ballet.
library for children and youth, with about 4,000
books and a reading room, fulfills the needs of the youngest readers
for school literature and other adequate books. With its supporting
programs the library enables active following of literary achievements
for the youngest, as well as their literary direction and affirmation.
conferences, round tables - talks with preventive
topics for children and youth, with their multidisciplinary approach
keep up with the most representative programs of the Children's
Cultural Center.
playful contents promote play as a basic postulate
of growing up, encouraging exploration of their own city's heritage,
parks, schools and nearest surroundings.
ecological contents discover child's love, care,
attention, for the violated nature and joy of achievement of harmony
of living together on our planet.
seminars for adults - numerous seminars are organized,
because the adults learn as well, especially those who work and
create with children.
